Jazz-Funk compilation from the island of Guam 🇬🇺
Despite being a U.S territory, the entire album is sung in the indigenous language of Chamorro and has that particular Pacific sound also found in music from Polynesia and Hawaii. Guam had a very small production of vinyl (less than 30 releases listed online) with the majority being sold as souvenir records for traditional music. This compilation is more on the modern and funky side, with Ane’ by Jess Rivers being my favourite.
